Intent & impact
I want you to think about two words.
Intent and impact.
And now I want you to imagine that your sister and her children are going through THE WORST DOMESTIC ABUSE SITUATION EVER.
As in, every horrific violation that is possible...they are experiencing.
And the authorities are aware. They don't just have witness statements, but they have footage. Hours and hours of videos showing the graphic details of her children being r*ped, burnt alive and slaughtered.
Here's the thing though:
Instead of the authorities arresting the abuser...they are busy discussing & analysing his intentions.
Maybe he never actually meant to ki|| the children. Maybe he was just disciplining them. And what if he has childhood trauma? And this is just a response to what happened to him? And it's going to take time to confirm if there's a possibility that he is in fact acting in self defence. After all, that's what he's claiming. And he has lots of very important friends who are insisting he would never lie.
If we focus on the intention...it could take years to arrive at an answer. There are so many variables and interpretations.
However, if we instead choose to focus on the impact, it's no longer a complex (and complicated) situation.
There is a woman and children who are systematically being abused & slaughtered. That has to be stopped. All discussions and deliberations can wait until the abuser has been arrested and locked up.
It's obvious no?
And it takes a very deliberate mindset to turn a blind eye to the impact. Yet that is exactly what our leaders are doing right now.
And I have to ask what are they gaining by remaining silent? What's in it for them? How much did they sell their humanity for? Who are they scared to upset?

I would like our leaders to answer those questions themselves, without my attempt to guess what their answers might be
