🤷🏼‍♀️ Jews say what?

⛵️ Here's the thing:

There was absolutely no need to mention Jews this afternoon at the snap rally.

When I realised that I might be able to leave work early I messaged one of the organisers asking what message we should use on flotilla banners.

They didn't know.

Neither did another person I asked.

By the time I got home I literally had minutes to make a banner. There was no way I could make something from scratch. And I needed something easily portable because my back has not been happy today.

So last minute I decided to tweak one of my bridge banners to become a flotilla banner.

I added a strip of red tape (how symbolic) at the bottom and wrote:

BRING HOME OUR ELEVEN AUSTRALIAN HUMANITARIANS THAT HAVE BEEN KIDNAPPED BY |SRAEL!!!

And then I added each name because I've realised how much it helps to feel connected to the story.

The "Jews say" part was neither here or there.

Until we got to the rally.

And one of the dads spoke.

And at the end of his very heartfelt talk, he went into great detail to thank the Jews and Israe|is who are speaking up during this gen0cide.

And all of a sudden I was forcing tears not to flow out of my eyes.

Because we shouldn't be thanked.

It should just be completely normal for Jewish people to speak up against a gen0cide.

But his insistence and the gentleness with how he said it was so deeply moving.

As you go to bed this evening, please know there are eleven Australians (along with lots of others from around the globe) locked up in an Israe|i prison. Most of them on a hunger strike.

I don't want to think about what they are experiencing beyond that. It's too horrific.

And the whole reason they are there is to raise awareness of the Pa|estinian plight. Specifically the gen0cide in G♡za. But of course the Zi0nist regime stretches beyond the G♡za border.

The least we can do from the comforts of our home is to contact our leaders. The more of their constituents they hear from, the more likely they are to do "something".
